Don't care what people think of the 996....it will always have a place in my heart in GT3 form....

Hahaha, I always go back and forth on when I want to buy a P-car. If I were to get one it'd be a 996TT or 997.2 C2S, need the back seat for DD-ing.

The only thing I truly dislike about the 996 is the blob headlights.

Yeah, on the Boxsters and regular C2's I agree. The GT3 just seems to flow better for me.

True story from a few years ago:
1. I was at Porsche dealer and a guy (with his family) was going to take delivery of a used Turbo
2. New GT3 sat in the showroom because the buyer backed-out (assume he lost his deposit)
3. Guy asks his salesman - is there anyway you can bolt in seats (and seat belts) to the back of the GT3? Salesman said 'yes' and that all the mounting points were in the GT3
4. I had to leave -so didn't get to see what eventually happened, but I've always been curious if the above is possible…
By the way, the dealership was graciously contributing to a charity I was working…really cool, good folks.

My first ride in a Porsche was in a 996 GT3. At the track. Driven by an older gentleman who knew how to make her dance.

I think the one that will make it into my garage one day will be a 997 GT3 (RS, if I can make it happen).
